Summative Assessment
Innovate! Develop a new approach to a problem in your nursing practice. Then, identify one nursing-related theory that will support your innovative idea. Describe how you can evaluate the effectiveness of the solution and then how you can successfully integrate the solution into practice.
- Develop a PowerPoint presentation with audio to address these key questions:
- What is the problem? Include information on why it’s a problem, who is impacted, and contributing factors.
- How does your innovation solve the problem?
- How can the new practice be “tested” without harming patients?
- How does the chosen nursing-related theory provide a framework for the new practice approach?
- Does the theory justify the new approach?
- What method(s) could you use to evaluate the new practice approach?
- How will you determine if the innovation successfully addresses the initial problem?
- How will you integrate the innovation into practice? – Be specific: include key stakeholders and their roles, cost and resources associated with the innovation, and how to appropriately scale implementation. The presentation should include speaker notes and demonstrate PowerPoint best practices, including the application of APA formatting.
- The presentation should be a minimum of 10 content slides with additional slides for the title page and reference page.
