What the assignment is about/instructions
he Final Project is designed to help students develop an analytical
report that explicitly accounts for complex institutional environment for
international business. The task is to strategically select a consumer
product/industrial commodity/business service and explore the options
of entering a specific international market (country). Reasons for
selecting the product or service, the market, and the mode of entry must
be justified. Students will identify the institutional environment of the
market in question, such as government policies toward foreign business,
track record of other foreign business, the dynamics of the industrial or
economic sector in which your product/service is part of, culturalappropriateness of foreign products and services, the specific market
segment based on product/service appropriateness such as age, income
groups, regional dimensions, challenging or questionable business
practices (thus ethical dilemmas), etc. Products/services need not be
“consumer” products, they could be business-to-business markets. Try to
think of BOLD projects. In effect you will be undertaking a more
nuanced and detailed version of a SWOT, PESTEL, and Mode of Entry
analysis.
Total length between 2,500-3,000 words, excluding references and
other peripheral matter. Word count must be provided on the cover
page. All sources used must be referenced, with full bibliographic
information.
