Essay format:
1. Essays need to be double-spaced, and written in 12 point font (Preferably Times New
Roman). Paragraphs are indicated by one tab (or a space of .5 inch), not by adding extra
space between paragraphs. No extra space should be added between paragraphs.
2. The essay needs to consist of an introduction with a thesis statement (usually one-two
sentences), body paragraphs that include claims/evidence/analysis that evolves the
thesis and moves it forward, and a conclusion that does not simply restate previous
claims but that moves forward and leaves reader thinking.
3. Your essay should be followed by a Works Cited Page.

1. A Bibliography is a document that provides a detailed (all publication and resource info
listed) list of all the sources that were consulted during the writing process. This lists all
the sources that you use directly in your essay and all the sources that informed your
thinking, but was not used directly in your paper.
