Concert Reflection Assignments: Each student is required to listen to THREE full-length musical performances online and write a one-page evaluation and reflection on each performance. One performance must be a classical music concert. All performances must be something new to you that you have never seen or experienced before. Broadway musicals, operas, symphony concerts, jazz concerts, piano recitals, a film music concert … all of these are acceptable options for your concert reflections. You may not use a popular music event (such as “Taylor Swift in concert”) for your concert reflections.
Each reflection must be at least 600 words, double-spaced, using 12 point Times New Roman font. You will be counted off if your paper is not long enough. You will be graded primarily on the content of your writing. This is a reflection paper, so I am interested in hearing your thoughts! Please say why you liked a performance or why you disliked it. You are welcome to do some research and reading on the music you hear.
Grammar and mechanics of writing are an important element of a college-level essay. This is not a formal research paper, but you are expected to proofread your paper before submitting. All of your sentences should be complete sentences. Check the punctuation and capitalization of names of people and pieces that you heard, especially if they are in a foreign language.
